A gas safety record is the document issued after a landlord gas safety check. Landlords must keep it and provide copies to tenants within required timeframes.

A gas safety record (often called a “gas safety certificate”) is the record a landlord receives after a gas safety check carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.

Why it matters
