Definition
A gas safety record (often called a “gas safety certificate”) is the record a landlord receives after a gas safety check carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
Why it matters
It’s a compliance requirement. Landlords must keep the record and provide it to tenants as required by HSE guidance.
